We had a great meeting last week highlighted by the induction of Paul Reilly into the club and Lea’s final presentation.
Paul has been to a few meetings now and I am sure he has the ‘vibe’ about the club - I am confident he will be a valuable contributor to Central.
It is amazing to see the personal growth in Lea during her time in Australia. She was very unsure of her English when she arrived and improved to deliver a very polished and entertaining presentation at our meeting.
Well done Ash Barty - she is a champion and clearly Kyrgios and Tomic are not!!

Minutes.
Attendance: Mal counted 31 members and three guests; Paul Reilly, Jill Ritchie and, for the last time, Léa.
Meal: A tasty chicken risotto that was made to look even better by some microwaved frozen mixed vegies.
Brendan got the show on the road with a golf joke before introducing our President.
Lew reported;
We had no visiting Rotarians.
The wine tasting night was excellent.
We need to confirm numbers for the changeover dinner.
Rob Coffey is chairing a meeting to support the Find Your Voice Choir on the 12th of June. Talk to Rob if you would like to be involved.
Directors are asked to send their annual reports to Pip asap.
Sam is having surgery soon and we are all thinking of him. Hayessey has kindly agreed to step in as treasurer while Sam is recovering.
On Monday 24th June at 12.30pm at the Warrnambool Hotel there will be a meeting of the old and new boards.
In other reports;
Rob reported that in the footy tipping Les only got 4. However, Paul got 3 so is still comfortably in front. Some people got 8, but were undone by Freo.
Rob also reported that there will be a fundraising concert for the Find Your Voice Choir on the 13th June at 6.00pm at the Lighthouse Theatre.
Greg reminded us that our prospective outbound exchange student Jann Fiedler and one or both of his parents (Sladjana and Christian) will be our guests next week. Please make them feel welcome.
Paul Reilly was inducted as a new member or Rotary and our club. We welcome Paul and hope he enjoys his time in Rotary.
Léa gave a fantastic final presentation on her year in Australia. We wish her a safe trip home and every success in her future back home in beautiful France.
Boré’s view.
Boré was nominated for fines next week, and gladly accepted. This can only mean one thing – Boré is about to jet off on a long holiday. It turns out Anita and Boré are travelling to Mexico. This is partly because Boré wants to see the United States before they build the wall. The other reason Boré is going to Mexico is that he is visiting our past exchange student Aquiles Ordune. Hopefully he will be able to provide us with an update on Aquiles when he returns. In the mean time Boré sends us this reminder of Aquiles.
Darwin 1.
Darwin or course was named after Charles Darwin, one of the two authors of the theory of natural selection. Lew sent us this story with the comment; “I hope Robbo gets home from Darwin safely!”

"While out walking along the edge of a pond just outside of Gagudju Lodge in Kakadu
National Park with my soon to be ex-husband discussing property settlement and other divorce issues, we were surprised by a huge 16 foot crocodile which suddenly emerged from the murky water and began charging us with its large jaws wide open. She must have been protecting her nest because she was extremely aggressive.
"If I had not had my little Beretta Jetfire .25 caliber pistol with me, I would not be here today! Just one shot to my estranged husband's knee cap was all it took. The croc got him easily and I was able to escape by just walking away at a brisk pace.
"That pistol saved my life and amount I saved in lawyer's fees was incredible."
