Tony’s tribulations.
Greetings fellow Rotarians.
Several years ago, we held a working bee to do some maintenance at the home of the Philpot family. We did this partly because their daughter, Naomi, had been diagnosed with brain cancer. I know some members did a lot of work on this project. Sadly, Naomi passed away several days ago. Had Naomi not been sick she would have started high school this year. Our thoughts are with Anna, Andrew, James and Levi.
June and the end of the Rotary year are nearly here. I hope club members will take a few moments to think about what they might want to do in Rotary in the year ahead. Hopefully you can find something that interests you so we can all support James and his new board in the next Rotary year.
Kind regards
Tony

Roster.
Please keep an eye out for your name in the weeks ahead. If you are not able to be at a meeting please organise someone else to stand in for you.
A horse walks into a bar. The bartender asks, ‘Why the long face?’
The horse replies, “Because you tell that same joke every time I come here.”
Minutes.
Attendance: 16 members.
Meal: Frittata and salad; a perfect lunch.
With some members away with Covid, we were all able to fit on one big table this week. We hope those with Covid are okay and recover shortly.
Hutto gave us a wrap up on the Thoroughbred Club luncheon. Palmer Bet donated $1,000 to our Rotary club and we thank them for their generous gesture. Thanks to Ian, James and Garry for their help organising the event. Also thanks is due to Symon and all the people at Wilde Racing, who once again have been very generous donors to our club. Congratulations to Hutto on a wonderful event. A very large amount of money was raised for Myeloma Australia. Hutto reports that there is now talk of making this an annual event.
Garry reported that we have received a $1178 donation from the Seanchai trivia night thanks to Matt. Matt has been quite sick in hospital recently. We are thinking of you Matt and wish you a speedy recovery.
Bob informed us the seventy boxes of computers have been packed and are now on their way to Lismore, which has of course been devastated by recent floods. Congratulations to everyone who helped out on the day.
Bob also proposed a social trivia night. We look forward to this, stay tuned for more info.
Brendan reported that Hayesey, Nooka, Shane and Robbo are leading the footy tipping.
Some relaxed O’Brien time was followed by a short fines from the floor session. The barrel was drawn and Bob McMillan won the wine. Bob looked like he needed to rehydrate too after being attacked by Dracula earlier in the day. Congratulations Bob.
A pony walks into a bar and whispers his order. Bartender asks, “Why are you whispering?”
Pony replies, “I’m a little horse.”
Ten Years Ago.
Ten years ago we published this photo of the mighty Berlin Crocodiles playing next to the stadium that hosted the 1936 Olympics. Like Melbourne, the Crocs are the reigning premiers. Ten years ago we also published this photo of some hapless Melbourne fans wishing that they barracked for the Crocodiles instead.
