In summary; 10/10, first class meal.
Sgt Bob opened the meeting, although apparently he failed to close our last meeting before Christmas so this was really just a continuation of that meeting. Bob introduced James and we had 2023 under way. In reports;
- Bob informed everyone that Marg Hutson had broken her wrist and then been diagnosed with another serious medical condition. Marg is recovering but has been very unwell over Christmas. We wish Marg and John well.
- Hayesey attended the East Warrnambool Primary School Assembly and presented many of the school’s awards. Peter was presented with a pen for his troubles and kindly gifted this pen to Lew.
- Brendan thanked members who helped transport the clothing intended for Ukraine to Mooney Ponds.
- James informed us that Ukraine has closed its borders to all used goods and a solution is currently been sought to aid the people in Ukraine.
- Matt thanked all the members who assisted with the Bunnings barbecue.
- Matt also thanked those members who assisted distributing the presents from Sinclair Wilson.
- Matt proudly announced that he has remained off the durries over the Christmas New Year period.
- Malcolm is organising our working bee at Welcome Computers. We have been asked to wash the internal walls and clean the front of the building. More info to come.
- Bruce thanked those members who assisted him recently. Bruce reports that he had been feeling very lethargic but is improving now with treatment. It was great to see our Charter President back at Rotary.
We had a lively fines from the floor session before the barrel was drawn. Paul collected the coveted bottle of plonk and Bob brought down the curtain on our first meeting of the year and, apparently, our last meeting of last year.
