We had a busy meeting last week. Adam from RSL active spoke to us about the work they do to help returned service men and women integrate back into their community’s as there are far too many who take their own lives. Our club, with leadership from James in this area, support their great work.
The peace concert was again a huge success with a packed house well done everyone. There were too many Rotarians helping to thank individually, well done

Attendance: Chill counted 35 members and 2 guests – Adam Kent and Mary. He reported someone paid with a dud cheque. He was too polite to name Hutto as the culprit.
Meal: Cheesy bread, avian risotto and a generous spoonful of thawed mixed frozen veg.
Bob stood in for knuckles and decided not to start with a joke. He introduced our President, who told a joke that confirmed the wisdom of Bob’s decision. Tim wished out Charter President a happy birthday while Sam inquired as to whether the telegram from the Queen had arrived yet. Tim also advised us that Doug is likely to sue Boré after last week’s Central Spoke.
In reports;
Rob reported very good ticket sales for the Peace Concert. Some members of our club, the Warrnambool Rotary Club and the Find Your Voice Choir had all excelled at ticket sales. Rob will be asking the audience to contribute to our bushfire appeal, and Matt kindly agreed to hold a bucket for donations during the interval.
Mary enjoyed her 17th Birthday. She has recently moved from Ronnie Barker’s house to Paul and Narelle’s.
Hayessey has picked June 16th as the date for the trade fair, with a venue yet to be decided. The plan is to showcase all non-tertiary career paths. Peter advised members that ‘everyone in our club will have a role to play’. No doubt the club will get right behind you Peter.

The Corona Virus has been headlines for some time now. There have been many recommendations by the World Health Organisation and local authorities.
The solution has been very clear to Bore. Perhaps we should nominate Bore for the next president of the WHO?

Here at the Central Spoke we stand ready to support members during this Corona Virus crisis. If the toilet paper shortage continues for much longer we will give serious consideration to publishing the Central Spoke in printed format again. Readership should go through the roof.
Restaurant Review
This week the Sarge and your correspondent went to Juniors new venture, Madala 134 located at 134 Liebig St Warrnambool just near the pedestrian lights.
Junior says Madala is welcome in Thai. A quick google says it means old one in Zulu. Lets hope Junior knows his Thai from his Zulu.
For me it was the second outing to Madala 134. Both times the meals have been excellent. The Sarge also gave his meal the thumbs up.
If you are looking for a tasty Thai meal I can recommend Madala 134. If you go during quiet times you may have to put up with having a meal with Junior however.
The restaurant is open Wednesday to Monday for breakfast and lunch (8:00 -15:00) and open for dinner from 17:00-22:00.

A Note From Brendan
This week marks the anniversary of the passing of our son Matthew. Thanks to the club for the support over the past 2 years. A few of Matts friends have requested an event to remember Matt by. We are having a gathering at my place on 21st March in the afternoon/evening. I am catering for the meal but it is BYO drinks. Please let me know if you would like to attend so I can cater accordingly.

Mary has changed residence last week and the new hosts have been out and about with Mary.
