Minutes.
Attendance: 21 members and two guests were in attendance. There may have been more in attendance but only 21 members noticed Nooka sitting on the opposite side of the room and went over to register their attendance.
Meal: Schnitzel.
The meeting began in unusual circumstances, with a new lectern apparently lifted from the RC of Warrnambool, Nooka sitting on the opposite side of the room, and our Sarg dressed uncharacteristically casually. It was all very strange. Sergeant David kicked us off with another excellent lawyer joke before introducing, in Bono’s absence, President-elect Paul. Paul forwarded to us some advice from Brendan;
- We were nominated for a Moyne Shire community Australia Day award, but did not win.
- We raised nearly $2,000 from our recent Red Hot Summer Tour can collection.
- The Bonomatic 2000 trial was a success.
- There is a proposed joint meeting of the four Rotary clubs scheduled for the 5th of March.
- There is a separate proposal to have a joint meeting of the four clubs to hear back from our NYSF attendee Nekoda.

- Jon thanked all those who helped with can collection at the Red Hot Summer Tour.
- Jon also advised we plan to join the Beach Patrol beach clean up at 10.00am this Saturday.

- Robbo informed us that Ron has not been well. Please call Ron of visit him and say hello.
- Surf asked members to rsvp for the Trivia Night on the Stack App. Friday 20th Feb, 6.30 start, $10 per head. Jon and Kelly will be quiz masters again. On the night Surf may be drugged up the eyeballs following a shoulder reco.
- Robbo highly recommended the film night for the Anglican Church, Thursday 5th, $20 per head.
- Gerald reminded members to rsvp in the Stack App for the vocational visit to Bega Koroit. Remember to wear enclosed footwear, long pants and long sleeves.
- Tony D provided an update on the excellent Bonomatic 2000. An esky has now been added.
Lexi Forbes, freshly returned from France, gave us a lovely little presentation on her exchange year. Her highlight was a bus trip with other exchange students through Italy, Austria and Germany. Her favourite French food was a type of dried sausage. Her favourite subject at school was English!
Cecilia Carvalho then gave us an update on her project to support the people of Ukraine, Partners in Peace. Through feedback from partners in Ukraine, Cecilia and the Partners in Peace have moved from donating goods to providing direct financial support. The Partners for Peace have seven members, three of whom are in Ukraine. Cecilia has a project to obtain tax deductibility for Partners for Peace. The Rotary Club of Warrnanbool East has been very generous in supporting this effort but she has requested our support to cover a $430 GST bill. We thank Cecilia for taking the time to talk to us again about her great project.
We had some fines from the floor before the barrel was drawn and the man who never eats lunch, Nooka, won the free lunch. It was then revealed that Paul has recently announced his retirement. The number of members in paid employment continues to shrink dramatically. We wish Paul every happiness in retirement, but also realise he is due to be installed as club president instead.
