On Friday 6th October around 15 members found their way down the Cobden road for the working bee the club sold a few months ago. 

We were presented with a rather large garden in need of some love. 

Without delay under the expert guidance of Hutto the members got into it. 

Pruning,  weeding, Whipper snipping and mowing was the order of the day. 

Before long we had made an impression and it was time to clean up.

We still owe a few hours so please put your hand up to finish off

Pip hadn't previously realised that Larry Flynt made lawnmowers, but he was impressed.

Meal: Corned beef.

Dillo introduced our President, who reported that;

• The group 5 clubs will be meeting to discuss an anti-domestic violence project.
• The club will be completing a survey soon about the regionalization program.
• The board will meet next Tuesday, August 10^th at 7.30 at Robbo’s.   The details again; October 10^th at a venue to be decided because Robbo is away.  Your correspondent spoke to Linda O'Neill, who said she was preparing to host the board meeting this Thursday, but then Brendan informed her it was next Thursday.  The details again; probably October not August, probably a Tuesday or Thursday soon.  Brendan then informed us that he is unable to host the board meeting.  The details again; date and venue unknown.
• It was Malcolm’s birthday.  Happy birthday Malcolm!

• Les reminded members of the Flagstaff Hill parking commitment on November 5^th.
• Paul R. reminded members that subscriptions are now due.
• Greg reported ‘go Pies.’

• Brendan advised members that the auction working bee was on this Friday the 6^th of October at 3.30.  Drive down the Cobden Road until you reach the Naringal Hall.  Turn around and drive back about a mile until you see a row of agapanthus.  There will be several cars parked there, but they will be out the back so you won’t see them.  This is the site of the working bee.  You can’t miss it.
• Sam advised that his daughter’s wonderful 2024 calendars are on sale again for $20 each. 
• Dillo was selling Hospice raffle tickets for $5 each.
• Nooka advised members who were not present last week that Robbo won the footy tipping, with Dillo in second place and Rob coming in third.

Clive then introduced David, who spoke about his recent trip to Egypt, antebellum as it sadly turns out.  David had wonderful photos of the many ancient temples and pyramids of Egypt and his exploration of them.  These are truly amazing artifacts of a very early human civilization.  We thank David for his presentation. 

Lynchie then presented a fines session based on past Collingwood grand final victories.  This proved profitable because most of us remember the grand final losses, not the rare victories.
