21st February - Trivia Night.
Hole in One.

We have shamelessly lifted these snaps off our President's Facebook post.  Thanks Matt.

Thank you to all those members who came down to support East Warrnambool RC last week and thank you to those members who organised the event and cooked the barbecue.  Congratulations to East Warrnambool RC on another fantastic event.

Nooka looked the most professional.  He is a seasoned golfer with his own golf clubs, golf club membership, and an official handicap and everything.  Like most of us, his handicap quickly became evident as soon as he started hitting balls.  Shane was the dark horse, and displayed an excellent and very consistent swing.

After some deliberation, and possibly some inappropriate influence on the judges by some members, Nooka was adjudged to have the most wildly erratic technique and was awarded the annual safety helmet prize.  Congratulations Nooka.

Gracey generally only needs one ball.
Nooka won the coveted safety helmet.

Boré’s View.

In the past week there has been much discussion about Rowan’s recent exciting crayfish diving trip.  Part of that discussion has been around the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, with many people discussing the funding model for the helicopter and the criteria for how it is used to assist rescues.

With the price of crayfish in Victoria nudging $150/kg, Boré has been working with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service to develop a sustainable funding model for the service.

Boré reports.

We thank Boré for another wonderful cartoon.

Trivia Quiz first draft.

Surf has been working hard to organise our upcoming trivia quiz night.  Lew has been hard at work writing up some questions.  This week Lew gives us a sneak preview of the type of questions we should expect.
Wireless Technology.

Lew has just returned from the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and brings us the latest in wireless technology for the home.

Modern Joke.

Lew has been working hard on his computer to constantly bring us new jokes.

Ten Years Ago

Ten years ago, we were hosting exchange students from across the district who were on the summer mini-safari.  During the meeting, French exchange student Alex started laughing at our conversation.  It turned out he thought we were addressing Boré as bourre, which is the French word for drunk.  The two words are pronounced almost exactly the same.  No wonder Boré can’t get served in bars when he travels in France.
