Our Commanding Officer.

We have a busy and important time ahead over the next few weeks.

Please support the Peace Concert on Thursday night. As well as the Find Your Voice Choir and other high quality performers, awards will be presented to the 45 or so peace builders who have been nominated by members of the various Rotary Clubs and the wider community.

Our major fund raiser for the year – the Dinner Auction - is on 6 April and Quincy and Crew are busy getting it all together.  Make sure you can attend and please bring friends as well.

Tim is quietly working away at getting his board for 2019/20 in place. If he taps you on the shoulder please give his request consideration.

We are always keen to build our membership so if you know anyone who might like to join our club, please invite them along to a meeting.

Cheers

Lew

Apologies.

Relax, you have absolutely nothing that you need to apologise about.

Minutes.

Attendance: Nooka counted 28 members and one guest; Lea.

Meal: Chicken risotto, 29 scoops of.

Our President kicked off proceedings by noting;

·       Our thoughts remain with Matt, Brendon, Linda and their family.

·       East Warrnambool sings the national anthem at their meetings.

·       John Clue will be DG in ’21-’22.  Congratulations John.

·       The District Conference is on the 23rd March in Maryborough.  Lea will represent the club if someone will drive her up there.

Lew then donated $1700 from the club to Dillo, who accepted the money on behalf of Warrnambool Hospice.  This was money that was raised in the Warrnambool Hotel raffle recently.

Rob is selling Peace Concert tickets and would like you to do the same.  He noted that the Find Your Voice Choir is now covered by Rotary public liability insurance, saving them about $2,500 per year.

Bob is organising a Coonara wine tasting night for May.  Stay tuned.

Tim announced the change-over dinner is scheduled for the 29th June.  Mark it in your diary.

Brendan asked members to invite people to our upcoming auctions.  Entry will be $60 per head with an additional $10 payable to be part of the key raffle.

The Borderers are available on the 8th and 9th of March for $700-$750 after their gig fell through in Port Fairy.  If you are feeling indulgent, just get them to play in your lounge room rather than watching TV.  Talk to Rob if you are interested.

Lea encouraged members to buy tickets for the ‘Green Book’ movie night on the 21st of March.  Talk to Lea or Janick to secure your tickets.

Car Maintenance.

Pip knows the feeling; you picked up a spanner when you really need a monkey wrench.

Thank you to all those who contributed this week.
