Gerald reported on the Union Dairy visit, please reply on Stack App. Car pooling can be arranged once numbers are confirmed. Correct date is 16th October as opposed to the incorrect date noted in the upcoming events section of the Spoke. As a result the Editor has been sacked!
Glen reported on the rotating dinner. Numbers are required so hosts can be worked out. This needs to be finalised before Bore returns and confuses everyone!

Francis reported he & Jacinta had recently become grandparents for the first time. Anika had a baby in Houstan, Texas. They would be home in December for Christmas. Francis & Jacinta are also going to be grandparents for a second time in February!
It was reported that Nooka had his pacemaker operation and it was successful. Nooka is now home and has 2 weeks of minimal activity.

Last Week's Meeting - A view from the cheap seats.
I wasn't going to attend the meeting last week but changed my mind for two reasons. I thought fish would have been on the menu but instead it was my least favourite corn beef. The other reason was to escape somewhere that I didn't have to listen to my wife skiting about the grand final result. She is a former Fitzroy member and long-time Lions supporter in spite of the efforts of some unscrupulous people to convert her to their cause (photo enclosed).
It was good to see the president healthy and back on deck, as opposed to the previous week when we had no president, no PP, no PPP and the PPPP was last seen in Canada. There is always someone from the club coming or going. Gracie was back from somewhere, Les was back from somewhere else, and David was about to depart for Peru and Machu Picchu. He has promised there will be no photos of fire hydrants in his slide presentation on return.
There was plenty of O'Brien time so many conversations took place around the room. I sat opposite the Doc who was telling us about the time he was examining a patient. He said to the guy, "Mercury is in Uranus." The patient said, "I don't follow that astrology stuff." Gerald replied, "I don't either, I just broke my thermometer." Just as well I was near the Doc because I was starting to feel a bit crook. Then we worked out I was getting seasick because Tim, who was sitting with us, showed us multiple photos on his phone of his fishing exploits.
Then there was the French connection with Lexi and Leah dining with us again. Some of the older members might remember Gonzague Lecroix from near Lille who Bev and I hosted in 1994. Bill employed him at the Co-op as part of his degree. Although not here through Rotary Gon involved himself with the club, especially as that year the club ran RYPEN and Gon was the star attraction with the female students. This week I received an email from Gon which said, "Jean decided it was time for the big trip". Gon's father, Jean, had just passed away at the age of 93. It seems everyone is going somewhere. Bon voyage Jean.

Following the massive welcome they received David & Louise quickly got into the local delicacies. The one they zeroed in on was a Pisco Sour.
