Attendance: Nooka reported that there was ‘abject chaos in his absence’, so it isn't just Nooka then. He was short on details, but did report that both the footy tipping and door were a shambles. Nooka counted 18 before Les got up and left, although only 14 were eating lunch. We were light on for guests and visiting Rotarians. Nooka was also able to report that he has found a bit of dental floss on the beach to be a good treatment for vertigo. Top work Nooka.
Meal: Corned beef and vegies on a bed of mashed spud. Very popular.
Robbo stoically stepped in as Sarg despite the recent administration of some dental local anaesthetic. He introduced Matt, who gave us his own beach clean up report. In other reports;
· Boré reminded members of the Polio Plus movie fundraising night. Robbo explained that he would have loved to go to the movie but there was a football game on. He didn’t know what game, but there was definitely a footy game of some description on.
· Les is looking into the request for assistance at the Flagstaff Hill event. Stay tuned.
· Greg noted that we were the only club that did not have a volunteer at the Science and Engineering Challenge. We will have to fix that next year. Kings College won the local challenge and are off to the national finals. They may be seeking funds to assist them attend the finals.
· Greg also spoke about the National Youth Science Forum. Abbey Titmus has been successful and will be going. Five other candidates from Warrnambool have also been successful, but they are having trouble finding sponsors. We may look to assist more than by just sponsoring Abbey.
· Bono reported that he has accepted a redundancy package and will be retiring on November the 2nd. He is looking forward to spending more time chasing people who do not rsvp in the Stack App.
· Brendan also asked members to suggest ways that the club can get top dollar for the chess table. Talk to Brendan if you have an idea.
· Boré is heading overseas. He will be in Canada and the US until September 26th. James M. has kindly offered to stand in as International Director while Boré is away.
The meeting concluded with some fines from the floor before Robbo pulled the plug on another successful meeting.
