February 2 Fenelon Falls hosted snow shoe racers from across Canada.  The Snow Shoe Race Committee has changed their name and will now be known as the Fenelon Falls Winter Festival. This year they hosted the Provincial Championships with attendance numbers topping the charts.
Initiated  a few years ago, the Rotary Club has financially supported the snow shoe race every year.  Tonight, Wayne Jolly presented President Joan with first plaque awarded to community sponsors. Many new events were added this year to the Winter Festival. A snow shoe race with Santa for kids, winter safety program,  a winter water rescue in winter presented by the fire department  and participation by college students who compete in snow shoe races at the college level. A world record was set this year for the number of children competing on snow shoe races.

The club is proud to be the recipient of the first sponsorship plaque.
