Janet’s Message

Hello All
At this Tuesdays meeting most members enjoyed a good meal and fellowship at Cattleya Thai. There were no formal proceedings for the evening with a very relaxed atmosphere and lots to chat about. Apologies from Jim Hanrahan, Keith McLeod, George McLeod, Brooke Jensen, David Brown. We have several members on leave
including John Hunt, Leon (the golfer) de Villiers, Brian Trenery and Greg Lee.

Father of the Year is on this Wednesday coming 30th at City Memorial at 7am for breakfast. David has done so much work for this event we really appreciate it and has had other club member help to narrow down the winners. It will be good to catch up with Ian Cairns and Mary at the event.

GRANDMOTHERS
Everyone should have one……
by a young child.
A Grandmother is a lady who has no children of her own, so she likes other
boys and girls
Grandmothers don’t have anything to do, except be there
If they take us for walks, they slow down past leaves and “catapillows”
They never say “Hurry up!”
Usually they are fat, but not too fat to tie our shoelaces.
They wear glasses and sometimes they can take their teeth out.
They can answer questions like: “Why dogs hate cats?” and “Why God isn’t
married?”
They don’t talk visitors’ talk like visitors do, because it is hard to understand.
When they read to us, they don’t skip words or mind if it is the same story
again.
Everyone should try and have a Grandma, because Grandmas are the only
grown-ups, who always have time.
