Welcome back to a New Year and hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
2024 was a challenging year for a lot of members and hoping 2025 will be a more positive year for you all. Remember to always be kind one another as we might not know what is going on in someone’s life.
It was great to see you all back on Tuesday night and we had Jodie Welsh from Warrnambool Weekly come along and speak for the night. Jodie works very hard, and each week prints out 6 different publications around the district. Warrnambool weekly alone they print 6,000 copies a week and distribute around the town. It’s a
great newspaper and keep up the great work Jodie.
The quilt show is on this weekend and thank you to all those who helped out. A big thank you to Ann Donalson, Svet Lineham and Tony Austin for all the hard work you put in.
The Book Sale is fast approaching which is on the Australia day long weekend. If you are able to help out, please see Anne Adams who is doing a wonderful job organising one of our biggest fundraisers.

Youth Exchange
Rotary internationally promotes youth exchange across the globe. Our district has 3 incoming 16 year old students for the 2025 year. Maria from Brazil will be living here in Warrnambool, and as such we are looking for homestays for Maria. This basically means taking on board Maria in your house for a minimum of 6 weeks. She will be attending school and volunteering at Rotary events while here in Warrnambool. If you are not able to take her on board, there are options that if you are doing something fun or 'cool', you are welcome to take Maria along as she is here is experience everything Australian culture. Peter has offered to bring her to the Australian Open for example.
Please get in contact with me about what is means to be a homestay parent.
