Tuesday night our guest speakers were Courtney Matthews and Maggie Dwyer from fruit rescue. What a great project to be going to people’s homes and saving fruit from there trees and donating to people in need. I was shocked when l went to a cherry farm and helped pick cherries for the day and to see how much fruit was wasted. It was great to hear from Courtney and Maggie and all the great work they are doing.
On Sunday Svet, Sharon and l went to the RSL to meet with DG Lesley Shedden, Tonie Thiel and Presidents from all over the region to talk about projects and what we can do as a region. It was a fantastic day and was great to see what other clubs are doing. We walked away enthused and how we can do more fundraising for our club.
On the 27th of September we will be having a movie fundraiser to raise money for domestic violence. We are just waiting to hear back from the Warrnambool Cinema with a time. The movie will be: It ends with us, which is a movie based around family
violence and also homelessness. Sharon and l went on Sunday night to see the movie and was a great movie and is worth seeing. I will keep you updated when l get more information.
Just a reminder on Saturday 14th September we will have a bus running down to Geelong to see the Lazarus community centre for homelessness. We will all meet at the Warrnambool club at 9.00am and head to Geelong for lunch and them followed by a visit at the community centre. I think l have asked everyone, but l didn’t, and you would like to go please reach out.

- Anne Adams gave a reminder about the garden show and Michael and Elizabeth Hall welcomed everyone to have a look at their garden on Saturday from 10am at 127 Rooney’s Road.
- Ann Body spoke about having a social night on Tuesday 1st October by having a meal and then heading a long to see Mary Poppins. Prices are $49.00 a ticket and $39.00 for concession and if you would like to go, please see Ann.
- Judy Ross gave a reminder about the small change jar which is located beside the badge board. If you have any small change, please bring it along.
- Svet is organising an R U Ok night on Tuesday 10th September and it also suicide prevention week and Svet has asked if you can wear the most eye-catching socks for sock it to suicide. The best sock will win a prize.

Robbie will be collecting empty medicine packets to be recycled. You can also drop them off at one of the participating Pharmacies as a part of our environmental project (Ask Graham about locations).

Ann will happily take your plastic bottle tops. Please make sure they are washed and dried before you give them to her. They are sent to the lids for kids program in Mt Gambier.

RYLA 2025
will take place in the April 2025 school holidays. We are seeking participants to attend aged between 18-25 at the time of the camp. Applications will open around October. If you have anyone in mind, please contact Rachel.
Camp Quality Cabin
There is a lot of maintenance that needs to happen at the cabin in the next 12 months. If you would like to assist on this hands on project and join a small camp quality committee, please contact Rachel.

News from Hopsice!
You may have recently heard that are-able (formerly WDEA) has gifted the rights to host the Warrnibald Portrait Prize to Warrnambool & District Community Hospice.
This presents an exciting opportunity to grow the profile of hospice and build stronger ties with the community, so that ultimately, we can assist more people with life-limiting illness to be cared for at home.
We are still in the early stages of planning the event for 2025, which happens to be the year Warrnambool & District Community Hospice celebrates 15 years of incorporation and the 10-year anniversary of our Hospice in the Home program.
Stay tuned for further announcements as we get ready to officially launch.
