Tuesday night we had Kim Boyd from Anglicare as our guest speaker; Kim has been the manager of the Ballarat Store for many of years and has now taken on the Warrnambool Store. Anglicare is a fantastic service helping many in need, they support homelessness and provide a drop-in centre which is open Monday to Friday 10-2 anyone can go have a shower and get something to eat. They have a navigator program aged 12—17 to get teenagers back into education. Anglicare have a volunteer mentor program that support anyone who has come out of prison to connect with services. Anglicare have so much to offer and if you are interested in volunteering, call down and see Kim.

Happy Birthday Maria!
Maria turned 18 on the 15th June. Maria would love to invite all Rotarians for a social dinner on the 27th June at the Cally. Please text message Maria with your name and how many people you are bringing.
Over the last week she has enjoyed many birthday celebrations. Youth Exchange student Simona (from Czech Republic) travelled to Warrnambool from her exchange home in Perth. The 2 girls have been living it up over the week and included a lot of giggling on the car ride home from Melbourne. Maria received a pair of true UGG boots for her birthday to help keep her warm
Wisecrack of the week
From John Beks
THE DENIAL OF TRUTH
(from an American minister addressing his audience)
“We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values”.
“We have endorsed perversion and called it alternative lifestyle. We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism”.
“We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare”
“We have killed our unborn and called it choice. In the name of the right to life, we have shot abortionists”
“We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.”
“We have coveted our neighbours’ possessions and called it ambition”
“We have ridiculed the time-honoured values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.”
