Tuesday night we were out at Deakin and had a celebration for the NYSF participants. Abbey, Bella, Calder and Rachel were our participants, and they gave us an insight to the program, what they learnt and what the plans are for the future. They all had a wonderful time and loved the program.
The NYSF program consisted of 455 Students, there was representation from every state and territory, 68% were female, 46% came from regional or remote areas. 3% identified as indigenous and 9 were Rotarians. The program included 150 STEM visits, 2 keynotes presentations, 16 specialists’ lectures, 2 great debates, 2 STEM communication workshops, 2 careers’ sessions, and 6 live crosses to destinations around the globe.
Thank you, Abbey, Bellah and Calder for taking the time out to come along and chat with us. Unfortunately, Rachel could not attend and hopefully she can come along another time and speak.
Thank you to everyone who came along from the following Rotary Clubs, Daybreak, Warrnambool Central, Warrnambool East and Port Fairy it was great to see all there and enjoy a meal together.

Walking Group
Another week has passed another short walk will begin from the pavilion at 9:00AM Tuesday April 8th. I am not sure where the walk will take us. Svet and Ann are apologies for the next two Tuesdays so it may be a smaller but more intimate group.
The weather looks fine albeit maybe a little colder. See you on Tuesday. Glenn
Wisecrack of the week
From John Beks
Becoming 21...
Do you realise, that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids?
If you're less than ten years old, you're excited about aging, that you think in fractions: "How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!" You're never 36 and a half... You're four and a half going on 5!
You get into your teens: now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number: "How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16" You could be twelve, but you're gonna be 16, eventually.
Then the great day of your life: you become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony. You BECOME 21.... YES!!!
But then you turn 30. What happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk. He/She TURNED: we had to throw him/her out. What's wrong? What changed?
You BECOME 21;
You TURN 30;
You're PUSHING 40;
You REACH 50;
Then you MAKE it to 60.
But then you've built up so much speed, you HIT 70.
After that, it's a day by day thing. You HIT Wednesday...
You GET into your 80s: You HIT lunch, you HIT 4:30pm.
Into the 90s, you start going backwards:
"I was JUST 92"
Then a strange thing happens: if you MAKE IT over 100, you become a little kid again. "I'm 100 and a half"
HAPPY AGING!
