- Robbie Blackmore who has been organising a social trip to Timboon this Sunday and has been postponed due to not enough numbers. Thank you, Robbie, for all the work you put in. Please let Robbie know when a good time suits as well would love to go and have a social outing soon.

Ann will happily take your plastic bottle tops. Please make sure they are washed and dried before you give them to her. They are sent to the lids for kids program in Mt Gambier.

RYLA 2025
will take place in the April 2025 school holidays. We are seeking participants to attend aged between 18-25 at the time of the camp. Applications will open around October. If you have anyone in mind, please contact Rachel.

Youth Exchange
Rotary internationally promotes youth exchange across the globe. Our district has 3 incoming 16 year old students for the 2025 year. Maria from Brazil will be living here in Warrnambool, and as such we are looking for homestays for Maria. This basically means taking on board Maria in your house for a minimum of 6 weeks. She will be attending school and volunteering at Rotary events while here in Warrnambool. If you are not able to take her on board, there are options that if you are doing something fun or 'cool', you are welcome to take Maria along as she is here is experience everything Australian culture. Peter has offered to bring her to the Australian Open for example.
Please get in contact with me about what is means to be a homestay parent.

The RI president-elect speaks about the power of Rotary’s members
Rotary President-elect Mário César Martins de Camargo revealed the 2025-2026 presidential message, Unite for Good, today:
"Rotary members are #PeopleOfAction. We don't wait for change to happen; we make it happen. And what do people of action do? We unite for good."
A reminder that we are collecting our containers towards our early loss memorial tree at Tooram Memorial Park. The tub will be placed at the back of the room each week next to the badge board for collection. You can put containers you have drunk from the meeting, or bring some from home.

The Folkie is just around the corner!
Each year we provide volunteer support to the folkie. The requirement is for each volunteer to work two shifts of 6 hours a shift over the course of the long weekend in Tent 5 as ushers providing guidance/directions to festival patrons. In return for this work volunteers receive a weekend pass to the Folkie.

WHAT IS A GRANDFATHER?
Grandmothers are old ladies, who have come along various ways on the road of life. Some with flying colours, some not so well, and others who have had stormy weather all along the way. A Grandmother generally lives in a little cottage not too far away, all by herself - sometimes.
This place is often called the quartermaster's store, for there you really CAN get almost everything from a needle to an anchor : for Grandma is one of those people who believes that if you keep a thing long enough, you'll find someone who needs it. Or if you run out of anything, Grandma is sure to have one.
Grandma is handy as a baby-sitter, house-minder, temporary cook or laundress, and an angel when Mum and the kids are all down with the 'flu. And if certain young people are too venturesome, and climb forty feet up in the fork of a hum-tree to find out where possums sleep in the daytime, dips up to their elbows in Dad's green paint, she has peanuts or butter-scotch to quickly soothe sore tails and tears.
Grandma is also sometimes that much maligned person, a mother-in-law - or a retired person commonly called a pensioner - a handy subject when politicians run out of something to talk about, or for social climbers to play good fairy to.
She and Grandfather are pioneers, who have made the place a grand place for young folk to enjoy.
