President Peter's Message
With President Peter on holidays in Japan, Rachel Furnell took on the role as President for the evening. This is her report to members from last Tuesday nights meeting.
Thank you to all those who travelled out to the Allansford 'Pub' for our meeting this week! What a great night .  Thank you to Svet, Leon and anyone else involved with organising the change of location.
Welcome to our Guests for the Evening - Maree, Rex and Paddy Harris (our outbound exchange student and his father), Barbara, Trevor and our Guest speaker/Defying the Drift participant Audrey.
Apologies from:Tony Austin, Judy Ross, Robbie Blackmore, Brian Trenery and Peter Smid.
It was great to hear from Audrey who is excited about a future in farming - we look forward to her reporting back after Defying the Drift.
Defying the Drift aims to encourage, motivate and enthuse young Australian men and women to explore options, formulate goals and implement strategies to assist in their development of a career in regional and rural Australia.
Audrey lives on the family farm  at Pamure where they milk 1,000 cows over two dairies.  She is currently in Year 11 at Warrnambool College and is also undertaking a Certificate II in agriculture at SWTAFE.
She is will be sponsored by our Rotary Club to attend Defying the Drift at Longerenong College during the next school holiday.

Ken reported arrangements had been made with Thompsons Removals to move our books from the Fairy Street sight to the shipping container at the Showgrounds this Saturday starting at 10 am.  Members are asked to attend to assist with this mammoth task.

Brooke reported the Science and Engineering Challenge had won an award for their inclusivity.  A great reward for all involved.
A student from Kings College has expressed interest in attend NYSF later in the year.  More information next meeting.

Because I'm A Man (Part 2)

Because I'm a man, .....I must hold the television control in my hand, while I watch TV.  If the thing has been misplaced, I may miss the whole show looking for it  (though, one time I was able to survive holding a calculator)

Because I'm a man, .....there's no need to ask me what I'm thinking about.  The answer is either sex, racing or football, though I would have to make up something else when you ask, so don't.

Because I'm a man, .....I do not with to visit your mother, or have your mother come visit us, or talk to her when she calls, or think about her more than I have to.  Whatever you got for her for Mother's Day is okay.  I don't  need to see it!  And don't forget to pick up something for my Mum too!

Because I'm a man, .....you don't have to ask me if I liked the movie.  Chances are, if you are crying in the end of it, I didn't!

Because I'm a man, ..... I think what you're wearing is fine.  I thought what you were wearing five minutes ago was fine, too!  Either pair of shoes is fine.  With the belt or without it looks fine.  Your hair is fine.  You look fine.  Can we just go now?!

Because I'm a man,......and this is a world of equality. I will share in the housework.  You just do  the laundry, the cooking , the gardening, the cleaning and the dishes. I'll do the rest.

Reminder! Bring in donations to 'The Farmer's Pantry'!
a huge thank you to those people who have donated to this worthy cause thus far.  We will be collecting breakfast spreads and toiletries throughout July and August.
Donated items can be brought along to on Tuesday nights.
Thanks Svet.
A proud moment for President Peter when he found a Peace Pole in Hiroshima
Reminder! We are collecting Bottles/Cans!
This is an easy way to collect 100% profits for our Early Loss Memorial project. You can use this barcode to scan at the machine, then simply enter your containers. If this is too hard, Brooke has business card sized physical versions you can use. A third option is that you can bring in your containers each week and George will collect them in the bucket near the badge board. You can also drop containers to The McLeod house on Kelp St.
Current total is $58.90.
