A very big thankyou to the 10 members who joined me in volunteering as marshals last weekend. It is not an arduous task and it is great to be a small part in making this iconic event the success it is. Maybe some more of you might consider putting your hand up next year. HI-VIS VESTS:
We are missing several vests and I ask if you could please check and see if you may have one lurking in a dark corner somewhere, (at home, in the car, at work, in the shed???). If you do find one, could you please check and see if it is clean and bring it back so we have a full complement of vests once more. Many thanks. LIDS FOR KIDS:
Please continue to bring along your washed milk bottle tops. Svet and her Girl guides are working with Lauren, who came and spoke to us. You can give the lids to Svet or Judy. Bread tags are also still being collected. SMALL CHANGE JAR:
Many thanks to you all for your continued support of our fund-raising to END POLIO NOW. Your generosity has meant the jar has been getting very heavy and increasingly hard to carry. So Anne and Judy decided to empty it (over lunch followed by a visit to Decked out on Bank in Port Fairy -    - just joking!!! ). The money has been stored safely and will be combined with any further donations prior to the usual "guessing" competition at the end of the year. |
