A warm welcome to guests Christa and Thomas Yannakoutis, guests of Brooke Jensen with Christa being our speaker for tonight. Apologies from Judy Ross, Robbie Blackmore, Alan Bowes and Rachell Furnell.
It was really good to hear from Christa about the Specialist Outpatient Services at Southwest Healthcare and to become aware of the substantial list of specialists servicing the:
- Diabetes Clinic
- Endocrinology Clinic
- General Medicine and Acute Medicine Clinic
- Heart Failure Clinic
- Renal Services Clinic
- Neurology
- Haematology clinic
- Peri-operative medicine clinic
- Movement disorder clinic
- Aged-care specialist clinic
- Stroke clinic
- Rheumatology clinic
The fact that these services are available for free and that there is a very short waiting list is very appealing. Its good to know that these specialists are now much more accessible to all people in Warrnambool. Christa mentioned it is worth telling our own GPs directly if we want t see a specialist through the Outpatients department. Access to these specialists will help decrease the need to travel to Geelong, Ballarat or Melbourne for treatment in some instances. Now we just need more GPs.

for more information. You can download a referral document on the right hand side of the page. If you would like to contact Christa for more information, please talk to Brooke or George for her contact details.
Some progress has been made on the Early Loss Memorial with a meeting held today (Wednesday) which Tony, Isobel Siebel, Trevor Blackley and I attended. We are now considering a stainless-steel tree. Will need to do some more work with the Warrnambool Cemetery Trust, possibly the council and some mounted on a brick wall with leaves and butterflies that can be attached for each individual baby lost. We
other trades people. Each trade person we have encountered has been very enthusiastic and offered to produce with decreased or no labour costs.
Just a reminder if anyone has any projects in mind please contact Tony and discuss these with him and keep him up to date at all times.
A reminder if you cannot attend please contact David Brown as the main contact but you can contact Kellie Curran too.
We are looking for Volunteers to man the stand at The Warrnambool Volunteer Expo Saturday October 7 from 10am-2pm at the Emmanuel Centre on Botanic Road. Please contact me if you can provide some time.

We knew this was coming and we will miss him and all the good work he did over the years he has been a member with us particularly but not exclusively for the work he did with Father of the Year.
