Anne Adams welcomed all to the Wangoom hall experience, especially Alan Bowes, now a 50 year member of Rotary. Thank you to Chris and Ian for the slideshow. Anne also welcomed all to her community network at Wangoom.
Members announcements:
Delia Jenkins: Mentioned the Bunnings appreciation night to be held next Thursday, 12th March, 5pm to 6pm. It is a ‘thank you’ function for all the volunteers who help the community. There will be light refreshments, prizes and Bunnings information as to how they assist our community. Also a lucky draw for a $200 Gift Card. Alan Bowes and Tony Austin to attend.
Ann Donaldson: Ann is in charge of food share now. Also the March 17th meeting will be at the Community gardens.
Cathy Bligh: Advertised the Fashion Parade on Wednesday 15th April. Tickets are available, still looking for male models. Flyers are ready for publication.
Glenn Brotchie: Thanked all for coming to the morning tea. 15 members and guests present, with $100 raised for appropriate projects. The Dinner Auction is coming along well, thanks to all who have been out there collecting. Latest info is $250 gifts in the form of tickets from both the VRC and the AFL.
Robbie Blackmore: Advertised a possible social outing to the Yarra Valley Blue Lotus Water Gardens.
President introduced Alan Bowes, 50 year Rotarian.
Details of Alan as presented:
Alan joined the club on March 2 1970. He has been club president, (1977-78,) served on Board numerous times and has chaired all of the service committees at various times. Alan has been S @ Arms, Bulletin Editor and chairman of the classification committee.
He is a Paul Harris recipient, (1995), and also awarded the Four Avenues of Service in 2010.
Alan, along with Eric Williams, produced the History of the Warrnambool rotary club booklet for the 75th Anniversary. He reproduced it again for the 80th, with updates.
Anne presented Alan with a letter of congratulations from the President of Rotary International, congratulations from our DG Roseanne Kava, and best wishes from President David Brown.
Ian Cairns introduced John Hunt and Alan Bowes for his ‘On the Couch’ session. Alan gave an indepth memory wracking history of his time in Rotary with snippets of his own developments over the last 50 years.

President Anne closed the evening at 7:45pm.
She thanked all, especially John and Alan, Chris Stebbing for slideshow from 90th anniversary, our man from ASIO Ian Sharman, and also to the catering group in the kitchen.
Next week it is back to the Warrnambool Football Club.
