This week we celebrated all things Camp Quality. Rachel did an amazing job of organising a night for our club, but also involving many of the people involved within this project.
It was great to see past members such as Richard Hawker in attendance to celebrate and discuss the history of the project. In 1993, Rotarians planned and ran a camp styled event for many families to attend and participate in. After a few years, this project mutated into the club purchasing a cabin and making it accessible all year for families to book their own holiday away from the chaos of cancer. If you would like to learn more about the history of the project, talk to Rotarians Brian, Keith and John Beks.
Since then, Rotarians Cathy and Rachel have been helping to manage the current cabin and relationship between the many local entities the give towards the families having a brilliant time while here. It was great to see so many of these people and businesses on the night. Thank you Rachel!
The original film footage from the 1993 camp is currently being processed to online storage for all to see. We will have this to you soon.
This coming week we welcome District Governor Lesley Sheddon to our club meeting!
Keith McLeod is on Fellowship and Sharon Kenny is on Invocation.
See you there :)
