Tuesday night was a very quiet night as there were many away with Folk Festival training and we decided to have a fellowship night, and it was an enjoyable evening.
It was nice to see Maria and give us an update on her first week here in Warrnambool.
This weekend is a long weekend and our club has a few things on with the Booksale and Folkie weekend. Thank you to everyone who has been helping out over the weekend. I hope you all got to have some down time as well and enjoy the wonderful weather.
We had no members announcements this week.
Apologies: Cathy Bligh, Svet Lineham, Janet Blackley, Ann Body, Wendy Gosden, Terry O’Neill, Brian Trenery, David Brown, Angela Wheeler and Graeme Ward

Youth Exchange
Rotary internationally promotes youth exchange across the globe. Our district has 3 incoming 16 year old students for the 2025 year. Maria from Brazil will be living here in Warrnambool, and as such we are looking for homestays for Maria. This basically means taking on board Maria in your house for a minimum of 6 weeks. She will be attending school and volunteering at Rotary events while here in Warrnambool. If you are not able to take her on board, there are options that if you are doing something fun or 'cool', you are welcome to take Maria along as she is here is experience everything Australian culture. Peter has offered to bring her to the Australian Open for example.
Please get in contact with me about what is means to be a homestay parent.

Wisecrack of the week

GOD'S EMAIL
One day God was looking down at earth and saw all of the rascally retirees’ behaviour that was going on ...
So He called His angels and sent one to earth for a time. When the angel returned, he told God, “Yes, it is bad on earth; 95% are misbehaving and only 5% are not.”
God thought for a moment and said, “Maybe I had better send down a second angel to get another opinion.” So God called another angel and sent her to earth for a time.
When the angel returned she went to God and said, “Yes, it’s true. The earth is in decline; 95% are misbehaving, but 5% are being good ...”
God was not pleased!!!
So He decided to email the 5% who were good, because He wanted to encourage them, and give them a little something to help them keep going.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT EMAIL SAID?
Okay, I was just wondering, because I didn’t get one either!
John.
Maria has ticked off some more items off the Aussie Bucket List this weekend. Visiting Timboon to pick strawberries and taste the ice cream before heading down to see the 12 (or what's left) Apostles. Maria mentions that the Apostles are much taller than what she had imagined.
Maria also tried her first 'sausage in bread', which has met her approval. As a treat we also made Honeyjoys to try.
Save the Date - NYSF Celebration Night
Our weekly meeting for April 1st will be heading out to Deakin University for a giant celebration with the 5 clubs that contributed towards the 4 NYSF students. Please bring partners for this grand night.
