We welcome many international guests, Including a lovely couple from Britain and a educator from Uganda.

Lids for kids:
Please continue to bring along your washed milk bottle tops. Svet and her Girl guides are working with Lauren,  who came and spoke to us. You can give the lids to Svet or Judy. Bread tags are also still being collected.

Garden Show Raffle
As Anne announced on Tuesday evening,  I am the 'captain ' of the Raffle crew for the Garden Show.  I am looking for donations - it will be run the same as our Book sale raffles - Pick your own prize - if anyone would like to donate goods as prizes, could you please bring them along to Rotary as soon as possible,  so I can coordinate each prize.

I am hoping one of the prizes will be a grocery basket, so tinned goods, cereals, biscuits, pasta - anything really, as long as it is not past it's use-by date.

Wine is always a welcome prize and Brooke has donated some glasses from Bed Bath & Table, so I can combine these in a drinks package.

Robbie will be collecting empty medicine packets from now on to be recycled.
If you would like to know how 'blister packs' get recycled, you can watch this short video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4IOv58Y4Xg

TEENAGERS AND CATS…. WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE ?!!
1. Neither teenagers, nor cats, turn their heads, when you call them by
name.
2. No matter what you do for them, it is not enough. Indeed, all
humane efforts are barely adequate to compensate for the privilege
of waiting on them hand and foot.
3. You rarely see a cat walking outside of the house with an adult
being, and it can be safely said that no teenager in his/her right
mind wants to be seen in public with his/her parents.
4. Even if you tell jokes as well as the world’s most popular
comedian, neither your cat nor your teen will ever crack a smile.
5. No cat, nor teenager, will share your taste in music.
6. Cats and teenagers can lie on the living-room sofa for hours on end
without moving, barely breathing.
7. Cats have nine lives: teenagers carry on as if they did.
8. Cats and teenagers yawn in exactly the same manner,
communicating that ultimate human ecstacy: a sense of complete
and utter boredom!
9. Cats and teenagers do not improve anyone’s furniture.
10. Cats that are free to roam outside, sometimes have been known to
return in the middle of the night to deposit a dead animal in your
bedroom. Teenagers are not above that sort of behaviour.

Thus, if you must raise teenagers, the best resources of advice are NOT
other parents, but veterinarians. It is also a good idea to keep a
guidebook on cats at hand at all times. And remember, above all else,
put out the food and do not make any sudden moves in their direction.
And when they make up their minds, they will finally come to you for
some affection and comfort, - but always on their terms – and it will be a
triumphant moment for all concerned.
