President's Message

Tuesday night Svet Lineham was our speaker for the night, all members moved around tables and spoke about Rotary and new members got the opportunity to ask questions that they were unsure of, and the senior members got to speak about there experiences in Rotary. Unfortunately, I had to leave early as I had a work emergency. I am sure it would have been a great night. Thank you Svet for organising.

Last Sunday Greg and l attended a district community meeting in Hamilton. It was great to see all the clubs come together to see how there year is going and what projects they are up to. Thank you, Greg, for coming along for the day.

A few months ago, our club donated $1,000 to blaze aid for the Grampians fires, and it was very impressive to see that $44,000 was donated from Rotary clubs in our district to support the volunteers.

District Assembly is coming up on May 2 nd and all members are welcome to go. It will be held in Horsham and if anyone would like to go, please reach out.

RYLA was on last week and the presentation dinner was on Thursday night, unfortunately l was in Portland dealing with a crisis, Tony went to support Rachel and they both had a great night. A big thank you to Rachel who has put a lot of work into this program and Tony for attending.

Wisecrack of the week
From John Beks
Thankful

I am thankful for...

The mess to clean up after a party, because it means I have been surrounded by friends.
The taxes I pay, because it means that I am employed.
The clothes that fit a little too snug, because it means I have enough to eat.
My shadow who watches me work, because it means I am out in the sunshine.
The spot I fund at the far end of the parking lot, because I am capable of walking.
All the complaining I hear about our Government, because of freedom of speech.
The lady behind me in church who sings off key, because it means that I can hear.
The piles of laundry and ironing, because it means my loved ones are nearby.
My huge heating bill, because it means that I am warm.
Weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it means I have been productive.
The alarm that goes off in the early morning hours, because it means that I am alive.
The lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing, because I have a home.

Walking Group on again!
9am meeting at the Pavilion. Social coffee at the cafe post walk
Reports for the Changeover Annual Report
Rotarians I have been tasked with getting reports together for our Changeover annual
report. The Changeover being 24 June.
The following is a list of office bearer’s, service areas, activities and the people who
“champion” them.
There may be others that I have missed. If so please let me know.
If you are an office bearer, or “responsible” for a project, fund raiser or activity can you
provide an overview suitable to be included in the annual report please.
To facilitate the compilation of the report easier and for consistency of appearance
please use the Arial Font at font size 11 point and do not include any complex formatting.
Where appropriate please provide one or a small number of images in .jpg format.
These will greatly enhance the appearance of your report.
To have the report ready for the Changeover I need everything finalised, at the latest, 6
June (approximately 2 weeks prior). I will also send reminders prior to that.
