Tuesday night we had Jessica Shepherd from RYLA come and talk about her experience with RYLA. Jess was so inspiring, and it was fantastic to hear how RYLA has made a huge impact on her life. l got the opportunity to go to the camp dinner last year and to be honest l did not know what RYLA was. After listening to a few of
the participants at the camp and how much it has impacted them and all buzzing with confidence. I left very impressed and can see how much work goes in and how much of an impact it has on the participants and as Jess said it changed her life. Well done to Rachel Furnell who puts a lot of time and effort into RYLA and is doing an outstanding job.

Leon De Villers is participating in Dry July and is raising money for prostate cancer. Leon has raised $700 and wants to raise a lot more. Please reach out to Leon if you would like to contribute to a great cause.
Graeme Ward gave a reminder about the tree planting day on 17 th August. Warrnambool Central are putting on a sausage sizzle. Graeme has asked for anyone who attending to wear appropriate clothing and gloves.
Judy Ross has started the small change jar again and will be sitting beside the badge board each week. Judy is now asking for any change to help support Ending Polio.

We had some special guests on Tuesday night, Jessica Shepherd from RYLA, from the volunteer expo we had Rob McDonald and Wendy. It was great to see them come along and hopefully we will see them again next week. Greg Lee bought along his granddaughter Isabelle who was so well behaved and his daughter Breanna.
We have CPR training on Saturday and if you would like to see the Camp Quality Cabin Rachel will be there at 1.00pm this Saturday.
Next week we are at Warrnambool Bowls Club and Meg Deyell is our guest speaker and Meg is from the lighthouse theatre.

Save the Date - Science and Engineering Challenge
We are now less than 1 month away from the challenge! Please save the date in your calendars. This year we are looking to need 32 volunteers to help run such a full day. Volunteers don't need to be a Rotarian, but need to have a working with childrens check. The Challenge date is set for Tuesday 13th August with setup on Monday 12th from roughly 2pm. RYLA 2025
will take place in the April 2025 school holidays. We are seeking participants to attend aged between 18-25 at the time of the camp. Applications will open around October. If you have anyone in mind, please contact Rachel.
Camp Quality Cabin
There is a lot of maintenance that needs to happen at the cabin in the next 12 months. If you would like to assist on this hands on project and join a small camp quality committee, please contact Rachel.

Tree Planting Working Bee
A reminder of the tree planting working bee to revegetate the site of the old Bromfield Street Weir (Merri river) on Saturday 17th August from 10am til 12 midday. Dress for the weather; bring gloves, sturdy footwear and water. The CMA is providing the necessary tools and materials.
The Warrnambool central is putting on a sausage sizzle, so for catering purposes please RSVP Graeme (graeme.ward57@bigpond.com) by Monday 12th August.

Bromfield Street Weir Tree Planting
Date: Saturday 17th of August. Time: 10 am to 12 midday. Location: the site of the now removed Bromfield Street weir on the Merri River. (northern, or bottom end of Bromfield Street)
To be followed by a BBQ lunch (thank you Tony!)
The CMA will have a volunteer sign in sheet.
The CMA will provide the necessary tools, however some additional digging tools, e.g. shovels and picks might be handy.
Participants to dress for the weather, wear strong footwear, bring gloves and water.

If you are able to use the app, you will be able to find our cause under charities. If the app is being too difficult, you can use the barcode below. Simply scan the barcode at any of the return depots, then start inserting your bottles.
