What a lovely meeting we had on Tuesday evening.

It was a delight to welcome and hear from RI Director Jessie Harman, who, in sharing her experiences at the top levels of Rotary, left us all very proud to be Rotarians. I appreciate the support from the other Rotary Clubs in Warrnambool, Port Fairy and
Portland.

We presented director badges to Chris Stebbing, secretary and Svetlana LIneham, vice president. Thank you to both for taking on these positions. It was also a pleasure to appropriately thank PP Glenn Brotchie for his service to our club.

Congratulations to Kelly Curran on her Vocational Award. Who would have thought we would make $13000 from fashion parades when we first started?

We had three visitors who will join us again soon, I hope , as they consider joining our club..
Looking forward to seeing you all next Wednesday morning at the Father of the Year breakfast.

After the many many submissions, reviews and interviews; our committee have selected the finalists and overall winner for this year.
 
Reminder, our weekly meeting will be at the memorial bowls club at 7am on Wednesday 31st August.
Please let Ian know ASAP if you will be in attendance.

Help Needed from Warrnambool Atheltics Club
Race Marshals needed on Sunday18th September for a Marathon starting at 8.00 am
Expected time 1-2 hours
We will be paid $20 per hour per person

Milk Bottle Caps
Letting all members know we are collecting milk bottle tops (Please wash them thoroughly) and bread bag tags. Bring them along too Rotary and Judy can take them. 
The 5c Jar
is now known as The Loose Change Jar.  We will continue collecting money for the END POLIO NOW project. We are THIS CLOSE.    
'Ticket to Paradise' Movie night
Start popping the popcorn and start rolling those Jaffas down the isle, it's time for a movie night!
 
 
Movie Synopsis:
The film follows Wren Butler, a recent University of Chicago graduate who accompanies her best friend Lily to a post-graduation jaunt to Bali. Lily's abrupt decision to marry a Balinese local triggers her parents to try and stop her from repeating their mistake from 25 years ago. Wren stays in Bali for the engagement/wedding festivities and, in the process, finds her own love with a local doctor.
 
Starring Julia Roberts and George Clooney, this will surely be an enjoying movie.

What an amazing evening we had with Rotary International Director Jessie Harman!
 
It was our pleasure to host Rotary International Director Jessie Harman last night at our weekly meeting. Jessie spoke about how her experiences so far on the RI board, international efforts to help those in Ukraine, increasing diversity and where she sees Rotary within the near future.
It was wonderful to see so many members from our district attend, and thank you to those who did. We congratulate our member Glenn Brotchie who receive a Paul Harris Fellowship for his amazing work over the past few years as president. Congratulations to Kelly in recognition of your hard work towards our fundraising efforts during our fashion parade events.

In 1991, Michael Schumacher Makes His Formula One Debut
 
The German race car champion competed in his first Formula One race in the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa Francorchamps. While he did not win that race, he would go on to win 91 Formula One Grand Prix races.
