President's Welcome

Tuesday night we had Adam Kent come along and speak to us about what he has been doing as part of Remembrance Day, Adam is doing some great things, and l had the pleasure of going to the Army barracks and seeing some of the work Adam does, we did some art therapy, and it was a great night. It was very interesting to see what else Adam is up to and helping those in need.

I am wanting to put together a committee for the homeless shelter and if anyone wants to be part of this project, please let me know, I am wanting to have a meeting soon and there is a lot to do and need lots of help.

On the 15th of December we are running the Bunnings barbecue and need helpers for the day. Can you please let me know if you can help on the day. It’s going to be very busy as it’s a week before Christmas. If you can let me know Tuesday night that
would be great.

You would have all received an email last week on disrespectful behaviour, please see below a cognitive triangle. It shows how thoughts and emotions and behaviours affect one another. When you come across a situation and how you deal with the situation can make a difference. Everyone gets stressed and it’s important to take a step back and think about the situation before you react. There is always a solution and how you respond is how it affects others around you.

The Cognitive Triangle
This triangle infographic shows how thoughts, emotions, and behaviours affect one another. This means changing your thoughts will in affect change how you feel and behave.

Wisecrack of the week
From John Beks

What is Family...

A Family is a blessing...
It means so many things
Words could never really tell
The joy a family brings...

A family is a mutual love,
The love of a dad and mother
Showing children how to love
And care for one another...

A family is a heart-felt pride,
The feeling deep and strong
That makes us glad to play a part
And know that we belong

A family is always home
A place where we can share
Our joys and sorrows, hopes and dreams,
For happiness lives there...

A family is a bond of faith
That even time can't sever,
A gift to last throughout our lives...
A family is forever!
