Acting President of Rotary East Cliff welcomed The DG Roseanne Kava,Memebers of the the two rotary clubs and guests to the joint rotary meeting.

We had a minutes silence in respect of the passing of their club memeber Carmel Brinkmann.

President David reminded members that there will be NO ROTARY ON TUESDAY 22 OCTOBER…..there will be a joint meeting with other Rotary clubs to celebrated World Polio Day  on Thursday 24 October 7am for Breakfast @ the Lawn Tennis.

Tony was happy to announce that our club was the recipient of the Wannon Water Ripple Effects grant of $4000 to supply water to the school at Popendeta in PNG. The PNG government has turned off water to the school as they could not pay the water rates, this meant that the school had to close.

Johannas is now living with George. He has been fishing at Nelson with Tim Goodall  & caught a 15kg shark . He is also learning to surf at school.

President  David invited East Rotary club to our 95th Birthday celebrationon the 23 November. The DG will be in attendence.

DG Roseanne Kava

Roseanne was grew up in Tully QLD .She studied chemical engeneering at Sydney Uni, then worked for the Commonwealth Public Service. For 3 years she worked in Rome at the Australian Embassy in Minerals & Agriculture.Returned home to Canberra and started to work in local government. By marrying a Victorian farmer she then moved to Swan Hill.This is where Roseanne became involved in Rotary.

Rosanne spoke about how clubs can keep members by engaging them in interesting local projects, doing joint projects with other organisations.

To be proud and loud about the projects we do & making our logo recognisible in the community.

We need to make Rotary flexible and family friendly & to create a culture of inclusion & respect.Celebrate our successes…best way through modern technology.

The RI Foundation Chair is coming to Melbourne 13 November in Kooyong

DG Project —Purple House.

2 buses that travel to remote areas of Australia to indegenous communities for them to have acsess to dyalysis services. It woud be great if members could donate  the following items  Soap, Shampoo & Conditioner, Body Lotion, Combs, Brushes , Toothbrushes & Paste……mainly for women.

AG John is also collecting…..used stamps & hearing aids.
