President's Message

At the meeting on the 26 th of March, I welcome all members and visiting Rotarian Frank
Mongor from the Rotary Club of Mount Gambier West who visited to take our club photo and
Will Sloan from Warrnambool City Council.

I explained to the club about my bungee jumping accident – it was not that interesting -my
broken hand resulted from jamming it in the gate and therefore receiving no sympathy.

There were no apologies for the meeting.

Thank you to all our members who had their photo taken, I am checking out with Frank
about adding in the members who missed out. Our thoughts are with Ann Donaldsons’ mum
and Friend of Rotary Barb Johnson who is recovering from surgery. We look forward to having you both back. I finally presented Lola Lee with her club dinner badge, and we hope
we have a long association with Lola.

The RYLA Dinner is on:
Date: Thursday 11th April
Time: 6pm for 6:30pm Start
Location: Kangaroobie, Princetown
Cost: $30, for 3 course meal (canapes on arrival, main and dessert)
Transport:  Car-pooling is available - there are several people that have already told me they
would be happy to drive and take others with them. Several members indicated they are attending and if anyone else wants to come please let Tony Austin or me know as soon as possible. It should be a great night.

Thankyou to Brooke, Rachel and Sarah for their Facebook and Bulletin work especially the
Facebook video on the Book Sale. Our club is getting good exposure. I also heard the book sale advertised on the radio.

Swinton’s have donated $500 which is very generous. Thank you to Swinton’s. Anne or
Tony will pick up the cheque.

Hospice are having their graduation. The new volunteers who recently completed their training will be introduced to the existing volunteers and receive their graduation certificates, Tony and Anne Adams will be attending representing the club.

Waste Management | Warrnambool City Council

William Sloan from Warrnambool City Council spoke to us about waste management. It was a very well-prepared talk, and he handled a range of questions. The WCC has a lot of useful information on their web site at:
https://www.warrnambool.vic.gov.au/index.php/waste-management
Thank you very much to Will for his highly informative talk.

Milk bottle tops and bread tags:
I have been delivering your donations of milk bottle tops to the City Council offices. They are no longer accepting them, as the Lids for Kids project in Warrnambool is not operating at present. Instead, Wil, our guest speaker from the WCC, suggested you put the washed tops back on the washed milk bottles and place them in your yellow recycling bin.  We will update you if the Lids for Kids project is restarted.

The bread tags have been going to Bakers Delight in the  Coles carpark at the rear of Target. Feel free to drop them in if you are in the area, however if you still want to bring them to Rotary, I'm happy to deliver them on your behalf. Judy.

A reminder for the small change jar, make sure to drop your coins in the jar before Judy leaves at the end of the Month.
