Welcome to the Rotary Club of Warrnambool

Michael Boyd, President 2018/19
Key Goals for 2018/19
Our Club has demonstrated its ability to deliver on all avenues of Rotary Service, in the next 12 months we plan to continue that tradition.
We will continue to:
  • Run the Father of the Year project in conjunction with Brophy Youth and Family Services
  • Support the Warrnambool Eisteddfod and FoodShare
  • Establish fresh water supplies in remote villages in New Guinea and several other international projects
  • Encourage our youth through programs to help them grow into leaders of the future through RYLA, RYPEN, Youth Exchange, Rotaract and Youth Achievers awards
  • Recognise people who have contributed to the development and reputation of their profession
  • Undertake a variety of fundraising activities to enable us to pay for our community activities
  • Our Club each year support the Rotary Foundation to enable programs like Eradication of Polio from the world to be undertaken
There are also a few ideas that I plan to test with my Board and the Club during 2018/19:
  • I would like us to work with the Warrnambool community to plan and commence the development of Ted King Park into a highlight for visitors and locals to enjoy.
  • I would like to explore the use of the Four Way Test at the start of our meetings.
  • I plan to reinvigorate our committees and empower members to make more decisions. To this end we will have a “Club Night” once a month, where we have no guest speaker and focus on planning our activities.
  • I would like to explore increased diversity in our fund raising, in particular exploring the Photography exhibition and Garden Show concepts.
  • I wish to increase the number of active members throughout the year, using our vocational categories to increase the diversity of membership.
I wish to continue the focus on social activities and build life long friendships between members, their families and Friends of Rotary as we enjoy one another’s company and “Have Fun”.
