Meeting 2882 was at Mac's we had the pleasure of Guest Speaker Louise Masters who gave us an excellent presentation on Dementia Explained, which generated some good discussion and several questions. At the end of the presentation. Louise had several different resource pamphlets available for members that were quite informative. A link below is included to an app you can download called Brain Track which has some fun activities that also track your brain health.

Prior to the presentation we had a few notes from Members, Brian circulated a member list asking those who would prefer a digital copy of the RDU magazine to supply a current email address, and he would update the record to get it happening.

A deal has been done to try and shift our stock of the Blue Lake Bunyip book at the main corner for $10 each, the club will retain $6 from each sale.

Ray circulated a list for Millicent's final meeting, It was agreed we would run a bus on the 18th of June to attend Millicent's last meeting, and this would substitute for our meeting on the 23rd as Mac's Hotel kitchen will be closed for renovations.

Bus will leave from Sturt Street Bus Park - Details to follow.

Until next time...

Next Week

Meeting 2883 will be fellowship and food at Macs Hotel.

About the BrainTrack app
For anyone who missed last week's guest speaker, or maybe you have forgotten... This App is for you.

BrainTrack is a free app that helps you monitor and understand changes in cognition over time, which you can use to start a conversation with your GP. The app will help you explore this common concern, providing brain health information through fun, travel-themed games that test your cognition. The resulting conversation and monitoring may lead to an earlier diagnosis of dementia.
The extraordinary ordinary
June's Rotary Magazine showcased the winners of the recent 2026 Photo Awards. One example is the photo <-- by Jeno Johnson from India.

William Blake celebrated that rare ability “to see a world in a grain of sand and a heaven in a wild flower.” The 13 photographs gathered in the article demonstrate that it’s not only visionary poets who can capture the magic of everyday moments that might have otherwise gone unobserved.

Extra Cash This Tax Time?
With the end of the Rotary year on 30 June approaching, now is a meaningful time to support our Foundation and the work that Rotary club members do every day. Your gift helps us continue doing good in communities around the world through projects that create lasting impact.
Zone 8 Conference - Melbourne
The Rotary South Pacific Regional Conference is the premier gathering of Rotary leaders, changemakers, and members across our region. It’s where vision meets action—where we explore the future of Rotary through the lens of People, Planet, and Peace, and connect with causes that reflect our shared values and areas of focus.
This is more than a conference—it’s a regional movement. A chance to build momentum, strengthen partnerships, and shape Rotary’s impact in the years ahead.
Date: 30 Oct - 1 Nov
Location: Melbourne Convention Centre
