Thanks to those that attended UniSA last week, it was a most interesting lecture, and we had a good turn up, although it was noted that there was a distinct lack of Egg Sandwiches......
We discussed earlier in the year the possibility of running a goods and services auction, as our major fundraiser. We are looking to try and get something put together for March / April next year and wanted to put the call out to members now for anything you can get your hands on that we can use for the auction, once we have list of goods & services put together, we can organise the actual event. I'll be talking more on this at coming meetings.

Bill DeGaris new Patron for Substance Misuse Limestone Coast
Mr DeGaris has been an honorary Westie and has spent over four decades in various roles across Rotary International.
Mr DeGaris is interested in helping Substance Misuse Limestone Coast (SMLC) achieve their goal of establishing a local service facility in our region to achieve not only alignment of services and continuity of care but to find meaningful and ongoing support to patients.
Mr DeGaris has said “I admire the work SMLC are doing to address the serious social issues associated with substance misuse in our community,”
"A grand vision for a future of housing and practical guide for how to achieve it."
Professor Damian Madigan is an architect and urban infill housing researcher who coined the term ‘Bluefield Housing’ to describe the established suburbs.
Professor Madigan will present this new housing model and discuss the often-contentious issue of how to increase housing supply and diversity while retaining the low-rise housing and landscape character that we love in our suburbs. Along the way, he’ll demonstrate that density increases, and the retention of neighbourhood character can co-exist in an increasingly complex housing crisis
