This week’s meeting was held out our usual haunt Mac's Parlour Room. It was kicked off by one of Sargent David's unique invocations, always keeping it fresh and us on our toes!
Neville and Frank led a discussion on the upcoming Bunnings BBQ, to ensure adequate bodies were secured and there is a plan in place for Saturday.
VP Greg reminded us of the approaching social dinner at Gourmet India. He will circulate the list one last time next week so don't forget to book your spot.
Treasurer Brian circulated invoices to all members present for our annual dues, and he requested that we paid them before using them to light the fire!
Sargent David also raised the 4 Reasons Why - Walk to Remember and our catering commitment with the Pizza Van, securing adequate volunteers to move and staff the van.
IPP Ray had received a request from an individual in Adelaide looking for old VHS tapes with recordings from TV. They collect them and convert the media to digital, so if you have any old VHS tapes please speak to Ray as he is organising a load to go to Adelaide.
President Neil spoke about the upcoming speaker program and about getting a system in place for speaker recognition, in that we have a certificate ready for all speakers and make a donation in their name to a specific program. The example used was a donation sufficient to cover a Mosquito Net in Papua New Guinea
He also spoke regarding the work going on to update our website and get new pages setup for our major programs. Having up to date current information is really key in communicating who we are and what we are about to the community at large as well as potential new members.
