Meeting 2852 was definitely a busy one with lots of updates and a trip down memory lane with Lambert circulating a photo from 1999 with some recognisable albeit considerable younger faces.
Neville provided the sad news that we have cancelled the Hill Climb and Reidy Park school events for the Pizza Van. We will need to run pizzas for the Party in the Park, we are working with Paradise Pizzas on a workable solution if the van is still not working.
Frank and I have volunteered to assist David with the Tradie BBQ for O'Brien's Electrical on 8 November. O'Briens are conducting a working bee at the storage shed to make it more useable for Four Reasons Why and Rotary into the future. The donation of their time and services is greatly appreciated.
Matthew circulated the Party in the Park roster. It is a busy day which requires at least 22 volunteers. Santa, his elf and ticket sales are covered, but if you can assist in the Pizza Van or at set up/pack up please let Matthew know.
Libby Furner has settled into Adelaide well and appreciated the flowers the club sent. Libby has also joined the Red Cross to keep busy.
Ray provided an update on the rock to be placed in the Rail Lands in recognition of the clubs support in creation of the area. The wording will be provided back to City of Mount Gambier for installation.

Dr Peter ‘Kevin’ O’Shaughnessy is hosting a public lecture on the ACHIEVE Project — a community initiative dedicated to shaping a more compassionate and emotionally intelligent healthcare workforce.
ACHIEVE Project:
The lecture will introduce the ACHIEVE Project, a community approach focused on creating safe, inclusive spaces for education around deeply human conversations.
These conversations focus on challenging topics including cancer, dementia, fertility, grief, loss, and end-of-life care. By engaging with lived experiences, current student and professional insights, the project aims to better equip future healthcare professionals to navigate these complex topics with empathy, compassion, and holistic, person-centred care.
The 2026 summit brings together three districts to amplify the collective power and drive meaningful change. We'll be focusing on the incredible things we can achieve when we work together, sharing our successes, and planning our future impact.
