We had a member presentation from Dr David Cameron. Born in Scotland to a schoolteacher father the family moved down under for a better climate. Once here, his father became the headmaster at Allendale East Area School where David went until transferring to Mount Gambier High School for his final two years of public schooling. He managed to survive despite being harassed by a head prefect and future Saints ruckman.
Following six years at Adelaide University he emerged as a Doctor. Initially working at RAH, he later returned to the Southeast as part of Ferrers Medical team. In his personal life he is married to Cheryl and proud father to three daughters. Whilst he is now retired, he enjoys being part of Rotary, Probus and the RSL and is looking forward to seeing two granddaughters perform at this years Generations in Jazz.

Join Dr Scott Leavengood, as he talks about Forestry in the Pacific Northwest.
Forestry is an important economic contributor to the U.S. Pacific Northwest, but it has transitioned from utilisation of old grow native forests to dependence on plantation timbers.
This transition has resulted in dramatic changes to processing in the region.
This presentation will overview the resources in the region, how they are processed and finish with research underway to add more value including through the use of mass timber element in building construction.
