Meeting 2866 had the best turnout for 2026 so far, it was very nearly standing room only! We welcomed fellow club Rotarians, partners and friends to hear Frank's presentation on his recent trip to Antarctica. And what a presentation it was, some amazing photographs, video and a terrifically informative presentation on all aspects of his trip. In fact he did so well, I'm considering pre-selling tickets to his next presentation when he returns from the Galapagos Islands next year

Until next time...

Just a little something I whipped up to boost ticket pre-sales...........

Next Week

Meeting 2867 will be a social meeting at Mac's Parlour Room. It is our last February Meeting, so we are expecting great things from our Rotating Rotarian Sergeants...

February Sergeants:

  • Kevin Scott
  • Peter Braithwaite

Upcoming Events

  • March 1st - Dirt Rally Breakfast
  • March 2nd - Dave Muller clearing sale
Is there an E-Club in our Future?

The Rotary E-Club of Southern Scotland recently started a virtual leadership development program that pairs Rotarians who are industry leaders with younger professionals for online workshops and one-on-one mentorship.

The four-month program which commenced in 2025 is described as giving the club a meaningful focus with hopes to familiarise young professionals with career and leadership development opportunities available to Rotary members.

Rebranded Public Lectures

Adelaide University has relaunched the Public Lecture Series (previously UniSA).

THE CHANGING BRAIN: MOVING AFTER STROKE

Presented by Associate Professor in Neuroscience and Rehabilitation, Brenton Hordacre.

Stroke can be a life-changing event and remains one of the leading causes of disability. Yet the brain has a remarkable ability to recover, rewire and adapt — sometimes in surprising ways.

The public lecture explores how stroke affects the brain and body, effective ways to support recovery, and latest evidence and research findings.

The lecture will also introduce the Stroke Recovery Boot Camp program currently running in Mount Gambier, providing people with stroke access to evidence-based therapy, support, and opportunities for further improvement.

Date: Tuesday 10 March 2026

Time: 6:30-8:00 pm
Place: Bob & Gayle Cowan Auditorium
