Welcome to the first of our "new" Bulletins. I appreciate your collective patience whilst waiting for the bulletin to arrive. Good things come to those who wait....... Well that's the saying anyway!
This weeks meeting was held at Uni SA where we were treated to listening to Professor Susan Hillier & Dr Caroline Fryer on Health Choices; Why can it be so hard to do what is good for my health?
The presentation was largely covering the new Healthy Choices Program being run by the University, whereby eligible participants can be matched with a health coach for up to 12 weeks to enable positive changes to their health.
Presenters also discussed the role habits play in daily life and the difficulty in changing, as in many ways the body is hard wired to like things that are bad for us.
The end goal of the program is to address chronic illness in the population through "lifestyle" medicine to assist a medical industry that is geared around responding to acute episodes rather than chronic illness.

Are you ready for your closeup?
As part of our image refresh and clean up of club runner and the website Frank has generously offered to setup a studio at our next meetings to take new photos of all members.
Looking through club runner, not all members have photo's loaded and some look like they were taken in the 70's (I'm looking at you Ray)
