This week our guest speaker was Matthew Murray - QP Audiometrist at Sound Audiology in Colac.
Matthew has 6 years experience in the hearing industry and started out in Ballarat as a receptionist.
He has always been motivated by a desire to improve others lives wherever possible and this prompted him to move into Audiology, where he was able to equip himself to do so.
Matthew works with both adults and children with a specific interest in rehabilitation, ear wax removal, tinnitus management and counselling. He is passionate about helping people hear to their full hearing potential and empowering individuals on their hearing journey.
Sound Audiology assists in the following areas: Kids and Adults Hearing Tests, Wax Removal, Hearing Aids and Tinnitus Treatment.

1/3 of people over 65 years old have a hearing loss.
A person who is not able to hear as well as someone with normal hearing
- hearing thresholds of 20 dB or worse in both ears is said to have hearing loss.
Hearing loss may be mild, moderate, severe or profound.
