- As part of our clubs fundraising efforts our volunteer time and earning are being used in some of the following ways: Board accepted a request from the Colac Mallet Sports Club to finance a cabinet for their defibrillator. The Board also allocated an additional $5,500 to support 14 other local and international funding requests. This is in addition to 8 other funding requests, funding our youth programs and a washer and dryer for the Salvation Army, are just a few this financial year. Well done everyone for your input.
- We have 3 members attending the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) dinner at Kangaroobie. This is always an inspiring evening and we look forward to their report. More information https://ryla9780.org
- We are applying for a grant through the Colac Otway Shire to hold an Domestic Violence awareness walk around the Memorial square on November 25th. This will coincide with International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, 16 days of activism. The Rotary Foundation, Australia and New Zealand, are striving to put an end to domestic violence for both women and men. Our club will join this Rotary project, starting with the awareness walk. A small committee will be formed to manage the project.
- Do you know where we can recycle our bottle tops, as Coles are no longer accepting them.
- New information membership packs are being written to help our new members through the Rotary maze. Board hopes to have them finalised throughout April.
- The board would like to thank Jackie Beckmann for the great work she has done in putting a Club roadmap together. Board have taken the initial document with them to read and will work on the fine tuning.
- The Donaldson St playground will be dismantled and made ready to send to an underprivileged country. A combined group of members from both Colac Rotary clubs will meet at the playground on April 26th or 27th. More info later.
