Colac Otway Shire Mayor Jason Schram was born and raised in Colac. Following his schooling years he spent brief periods working on Hayman Island, Queensland and mining in Kalgoorlie WA before returning to Colac.....
Jason was approached a few years ago and asked if he would run for council. Being a young family man, local and a businessman familiar with submitting tenders for contract work gave Jason some knowledge, and motivation to better the conditions that concern many of our local citizens. Colac currently has a population of 12,000 and includes a catchment area of 20,000 covering from Cressy in the North to Apollo Bay. There are many worthwhile projects Mayor Schram is working on including funding for upgrades on sporting & recreational venues as well as seeing improvements to Lake Colac.
Being Mayor is, I would imagine a thankless job as you are never going to please everyone all of the time and only probably hear complaints and negative feedback.
Mayor Schram we want you to know your doing a great job and we appreciate your calm listening ear and tireless efforts to better our community. Keep up the great work!! Thank you for giving up some of your time for our club.
