Many of our members attended a reciprocal visit to the Rotary Club of Calala where we enjoyed meals of steak or fish and great fellowship. President Jim outlined their Clubs achievements ( they punch above their weight) Fred Edwards distributed photos of President Scott being involved with Rotary projects at early age. An enjoyable night was had by all.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Tonight was our return reciprocal visit to Calala Rotary at Cascada restaurant.
President James and several of his members gave us a run down on their Club history and activities overtime, including my father who shared some lovely photographs of myself when I still had hair which was quite entertaining for everybody.
Chris Lang, Phil Lyne, Geoff Galloway and I gave some short talks on what the West Tamworth Club is doing as far as fundraising, community service and current topics, such as trying to sort out the catering and coffee van, Changeover/ 70th birthday of the Club and a brief overview of the ClubRunner app.
All in all a great night of fellowship and great meal. As noted by President James, a possible future venue for us if The Family becomes an issue, but I would hope The Family Hotel will be a home for the foreseeable future.
We are looking forward to our next meeting on the 18th May back at The Family Hotel with our very own Bill Forrest talking about his years in Rotary.
Cheers
Scott
