Thousands of buyers and sellers swamped the fields next to Ballarat Airport for the annual Ballarat Rotary Swap Meet last Friday and Saturday.
Event organiser Lindsay Florence said while the crowd attendance on Friday may have been a little down on previous years, overall organisers were very satisfied with the result.
“The feedback from a lot of the site holders is that is was a positive event,” Mr Florence said.
“They themselves thought that trading was good, the atmosphere was good and it was very laid back and relaxed.
“The presentation and partnership with Variety of Victoria and the family, they were very appreciative of the Swap Meet support – so all of that aspect was really good.”
Mr Florence added that the combined Rotary clubs were very pleased with the outcome and the continued support from not only the people of Ballarat but all attendees.
It is estimated that around 12,000 people passed through the gates over the two days.
“The Swap Meet is a huge event in the Ballarat calendar and the support of the people, the town, and the people that attend the event, they help to support the charities of the Ballarat Rotary Clubs and also the committee of the groups that support us on the day,” Mr Florence said.
“The more the crowd, the better the event.”
