Troy Adcox

Troy S. Adcox joined the Derby Shelton Rotary Club in October 1973. After living and working in nine different states over a period of 14 years he settled in Shelton in 1970. At that time, he was employed as National Director of Sales Support for Bunker Ramo Corporation at their new headquarters in Trumbull. He served as Rotary Club President during year 1978/79 and is a Paul Harris Fellow. His family hosted a foreign exchange student from Australia in 1979. He is a veteran holding Honorable Discharges from both the US Army and US Air Force where he served as an Airborne Radar Specialist for computer based weapons control systems employed in fighter jets. He spent his entire professional life working in the automation arena, i.e., computer based systems used by Wall Street firms, major banks, and on-line airlines/hotels reservations departments throughout the US and parts of Europe. He retired from corporate life in 1997 as Senior Vice President Sales for Telesphere Corporation, a Wall Street technology company. F

or many years, especially when his children were young, he was active as a volunteer with community organizations involved with the wellbeing of our youth. He served as President of Mohegan School PTO.; as an member of the Advisor Board of DECA at Shelton High School; as Chairman of Pack 28 Cub Scouts and later in several leadership positions with Housatonic Council Boy Scouts of America including Council President for three years and holds the Silver Beaver Award for his service; as one of the founders of the Shelton Flag Football League which is still running after 40+ years; as a Board Member of the local Boys and Girls Club for 15 years. He holds the Gold Seal Award from the Chamber of Commerce. 

He is Past Potentate of Pyramid Shriners and spent many years supporting their Hospitals for Crippled Children throughout North America. He is an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Oxford, serves as usher and is involved with his wife, Judy, supplying meals and food bank items to Spooner House. He and Judy have three married children and eight grandchildren. Troy when once asked about his credo and motivation said, “My kids were born heathy, they have a warm, loving home and plenty to eat. Many children in this world are not so lucky….I just want to do my part.”
