Shapleigh Drisko
Shapleigh Morris Drisko, served as President of the Derby-Shelton Rotary Club during Rotary year 1980- 1981. He was born August 10, 1932 in Columbia Falls, Washington County, Maine the son of Clarence Holmes Drisko and Myra Mabel Morris. He was married to Barbara Lucille Barron also from Washington County, Maine. He was a veteran having graduated from The United States Military Academy at West Point in 1954 and served in Korea and Vietnam before retiring from active duty with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Shap was the Administrator for 20 years at United Methodist Homes of Connecticut in Shelton.
He moved his family back to Columbia Falls, purchased and refurbished his ancestral home where he spent the rest of his life. While living there he served as Administrator of Sonegee Estates, a rehabilitation & living center in Bar Harbor, Maine. Shapleigh M. Drisko, West Point graduate, Army artillery officer and elderly hospital and housing administrator died unexpectedly at his home in Columbia Falls, Maine on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 at the age of 68.
