Jennifer Champagne

Jennifer Luise Champagne, MA, was President of the club during the 2018‐2019 year. She is a licensed professional counselor with 30 years of experience working with divorce and parenting issues. She has received extensive training in mediation and collaborative divorce, as well as in coparenting and parenting coordination. She currently is in private practice, with offices in Shelton and Branford. Her practice is devoted to helping parents move forward from divorce to a place of cooperation and positive communication for the benefit of their children. Ms. Champagne is an active member of the Connecticut Council for Non‐Adversarial Divorce, the Collaborative Divorce Professionals of Fairfield County, Divorce Solutions of CT and the Collaborative Divorce Team of CT.

Volunteering has always been important. When Ms. Champagne’s daughter was school age, she served as president of the Home School Association and was a member of the school board for many years. In addition to organizing fundraisers and events for the elementary school, she also served as room parent for many years. Once her daughter got older and involvement within the school faded, Ms. Champagne turned her attention to the community and became more involved in her professional organizations and ultimately in Rotary. Ms. Champagne joined Derby Shelton Rotary in 2013, although her introduction to Rotary began long before.

Her mother, Ernie Luise, is a fellow Rotarian within the same club. When Ms. Champagne became president in 2018, it made her and Ernie Luise the only mother/daughter Rotarians within our club to both become president. Continuing the legacy of service above self in the Rotary tradition is what prompted Jennifer Champagne to become an active member of this organization. In addition to Rotary, she sits on one of the Valley Community Foundation grants committee. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Jennifer Champagne enjoys spending her leisure time in the gym focusing on powerlifting and weight training.
