Henry Joseph Fortier was the President of the Derby‐Shelton Rotary Club during Rotary year 1943‐1944. He was born in Haydenville, Massachusetts on October 9, 1891 and came to the Valley area as a small lad when his parents, Lewis and Adeline Bouvier Fortier moved here from Massachusetts. The Fulton Market was one of a chain of stores in the area specializing in the “choicest of meats and the best in seafood… and is now one if the leading stores of its kind in the lower Naugatuck Valley”. (Quotes from Molloy).
