Harry Fowler
Harry E. Fowler, Jr. was president of the Derby-Shelton Rotary Club in year 1967-1968. He was born in Shelton and was a life-long resident. He was a 1935 graduate of Shelton High and graduated from Suffield Academy in 1937. His interest in youth probably stemmed from his father Harry E. Fowler, ST., who was the Superintendent of Schools in Shelton. That interest included his chairing of the Club’s International Youth Exchange and hosting exchange students with his family.
He was also a member of the Housatonic Council, Boy Scouts of America. Harry was the purchasing agent at Weimann Bros. Manufacturing in Derby. He passed away at the young age of 58. In his honor, the Club presents the Harry E. Fowler, Jr. Scholarship to a Shelton High School graduate
