Gifford Ryder

Gifford Leonard Ryder was Advertising Manager for Better Packages, Inc. located on Canal Street in  Shelton when he served as President of the Derby‐Shelton Rotary Club during 1954‐1955.  He was born  April 13, 1897 in Brooklyn, New York, son of Gifford M. and Katherine Ryder.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1819 to 1819 in the closing years of World War I.   He retired in 1964,  moved with his wife, Anna S. Ryder, to St. Cloud in Osceola County, Florida where he passed away  October 11, 1981.
