Francis Baut
Francis Stanley Baut, an attorney for many years in the Valley, served as Rotary Club President in 1956-1957. He maintained his office at 272 Main Street in Derby. It was noted that he was the lawyer who handled the legal matters required to incorporate with the Secretary of State the Housatonic Council Boy Scouts of America on March 3, 1941. The Council had been organized in 1920 but not formally incorporated with the State until the 1941 date. He served as Judge of Town Court for several years during the late 1940s.
Frank was born November 6, 1904 in Derby, the son of Peter and Agnes Stockmal Baut. He was married to Rosann C. Laforte also of Derby. He passed away in Derby on December 4, 1991 at the age of 87.
